This project began with the complete demolition of an existing full-service cafeteria, including trenching the concrete flooring to install new underground plumbing and electrical rough-ins for state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. The space, built on slab-on-grade construction with a massive mat slab beneath, presented significant challenges for the rough-in coordination—demanding precision and expertise from the team.

Following demolition, the focus shifted to constructing a brand-new cafeteria. The ceiling design, a blend of high-end 9-wood finishes and drywall, mirrors the intricate layout of the floor below. This alignment required seamless coordination among trades to maintain the design intent. The complexity was heightened by the inclusion of several radii, reflected not only in the ceiling but also in the millwork below, ensuring visual harmony throughout.

Achieving this level of detail and craftsmanship required a collaborative effort among subcontractors, D|Watts, the design team, and the landlord. The result is a space that exemplifies innovation, teamwork, and exceptional design.
